Francois completed his professional accountancy training with KPMG in South Africa in 2000. He is an entrepreneur and soon after leaving KPMG he started a business consulting firm in South Africa. He was also full or part owner of several small businesses in medical, investment property and fast food industries. He gained experience in a number of corporate positions ranging from Internal Audit to CFO and General Manager of listed companies in South Africa and Canada. In 2008, he assisted a Listed Canadian company in establishing their accounting policy based on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and assisted in the change management of the transition from Canadian GAAP to IFRS.
